5 Creative Ways to Save Money

As Inflation is rising and a recession is looming, we all need to save money. We have all heard (and probably tried) the tried and true way…but perhaps it is time to get more creative with how to save. Here are 5 Creative Ways to Save Money.

  1. Shop around: Set aside time to shop around for your car insurance, subscriptions, gym memberships. Your savings may add up to make it well worth the time.

  1. Eliminate Impulse Spending: Use the 24-hour rule (wait 24-hours) or ask yourself if you really need this right now. Slowing down your brain will help you control your impulse buys and save you money.

  1. “No Spend Day(s): Create no spend days once a week (or more). This is a day where you spend no money, so plan ahead to make sure you don’t run out of gas! Make this a priority and a challenge and you’ll have more money in your pocket.

  1. Keep the Change: Small amounts of change add up quickly. If you put .65 cents in a jar each day, after a year you’d have $237.25! Not bad for money that is usually lost in couch cushions!

  1. Use What You Have: Go through your pantry and eat the snacks that you’ve already purchased. Make dinner with food in your fridge or freezer. Use the toilet bowl cleaner you purchased and then forgot about. Once your cupboards are bare you’ll have more money and more room.

What tips do you have for saving money? Which one are you going to try? I’m going to try “no spend days”...I’ll keep you posted with how it goes.
